know of many agents who do get deals from their relationships with these types of groups. Namely, BNI. The key is to work the group not just expect them to hand you leads. At the meetings network aggressively and make sure everyone knows that you are looking for leads for them. It seems to be better to get into an established group vs starting one.
Like most things, Networking Groups work when you do.
