Been reading this thread. We have used coaches for years. I dont do my own taxes or write my own Will so why try to learn what a great coach already knows.

If anyone is considering hiring a coaching the one piece of advice that I would pass along is to know what you are buying. Life coaches, coaches that speak of balance have their place if thats what you are after. Balance, like what the others have said seems to be more of a 'sales pitch' for coaching vs something that is really obtainable. Most Life Coaches talk about helping you find balance...I have yet to meet or read about anyone who has balance.

The greatest successes that we have had have been with business coaches. We have 1 currently who we would not live without. We pay $250 per half hour and get at least 3 times that in return. If I wanted a friend maybe I would consider a 'life coach'. I have plenty of friends...I dont need to buy one.

Ok David

I don't know you (I think) and you may not know me. You write" I have yet to see or meet anyone who has balance" Meet ME... I have always prided my self on my "Quality of life" I worked hard in RE from 26 to 40. Listed and sold a ton of homes, invested in RE. "Retired" from selling at 40. I am now 47, work at investing and coaching 15 to 25 hrs per week cause I choose to. (You can only ski, bike run and hike so much)

When I "worked hard" I HAD BALANCE. I never missed a play, or parent teacher conference. Dates with my wife. Coached the kids in litlte league etc. I even took a nap most days. It isn't easy I'll admit. I was constantly challenged to keep focused on it and not let the world take me away from it. But David, now that I look back , I'm SOOO glad I choose to take a little longer to achieve my goals, and concentrated on building quailty realtionships with my wife, kids and those I love best. Then, when I saw I was headed to financial security, I took more time for my self, doing the things I love (skiing, biking etc.) I found I loved it so much and got such a charge from it I HAD to make my goals come true to ensure I could do tat which I love MORE. So, David I say it is possible, not easy, but POSSIBlLE if you CHOOSE to live that way.
